MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 27 mm, 12.54 g, 1 h), circa 76. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; between the snake heads, AΠ above prytaneis monogram and star; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡΓ; to right, serpent-entwined thyrsos. Kleiner 25. SNG Paris 1726-1727. Beautifully centered and exceptionally sharp and well preserved. Small die break on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
